Taking a wry look at humanity and the foibles that entails our collective Vicious History – this label offers a range of superbly designed tees with the aid of top creatives including Oatmeal, Killer Napkins, artist/musician Keaton Henson and Craig Robson. Spearheaded by Chaz Matses, a 22 year old guy from Boston, who not only has a great eye for design and for upcoming talent, he also makes sure his unique brand portrays history with a post-modern tongue firmly in cheek. Their line of hilarious tees are all hand printed by Storenvy and are all on offer at a very respectable $20.
Napoleon T-Shirt
A light hearted look at one of the greatest tyrants (an oxymoron if ever there was one) in the history of the world. Bonaparte’s looking a little worse for wear in VH’s interpretation . Still, vertically-challenged dictators and megalomania aside, it’s a great t-shirt. Available in sizes S to XL for $20 here.
Bird of Prey T-Shirt
Not sure how this one ‘displays the evolution of birds from their origins in the Jurassic Period over 150 million years ago‘, but it’s a cool illustration all the same. Available in all sizes for $20 here.
Grave Robber T-Shirt
A lovely title and an authentic slice of typographical savvy makes this simple logo tee a cut above the rest. Speckled and grungy, probably from the dirt of a thousand open graves. Wooooohhhh…. Get the Grave Robber tee in all sizes and gory glory for $20.
Reign of Science T-Shirt
This has to be my fave at Vicious History right now, it reminds me of the strange cottage museums my dad would insist on stopping by on the way to the coast. Usually run by mad old witches with a selection of conjoined twins, humans and animals, snakes, dried and pickled and pieces of wood that were supposed to look like the devil. Okay maybe it was all just a bad dream. If you like jars of body parts then feast on this fine example of Victorian era style design, beautifully ornate yet disturbing. Hey I like it so who cares. Get this tee in all sizes for $20 here.
