Invisible Friends, Broken Icons and Dead Rock Stars.
Invisible Friend is the kind of friend I’d like, as long as it’s not the crazy kind that will end up putting you in a safe ward for a few months until it’s decided to leave. Nor the kind my sister had as a child either, we were both only a few years old and she’d spend most nights nattering on to her invisible friend, she’d named it “Witch”, and whenever I’d pretend I had an invisible wizard, she’d insist her witch had killed it. I couldn’t see the point of continuing so I let her have the monopoly on fantasy friendships. Things have turned round now, I’m the crazy sibling, she’s the respectable one, I rant all night about t-shirts, whilst she waits for daylight and only talks to people she can actually see.
Invisible-Friend.co.uk first caught my eye when I spotted their sponsored link on Google, I don’t normally follow paid-for links, past experience has taught me that most Google Ads lead you on a wild goose chase, resulting in a page of search results from an inferior search engine. This time it was different, I can’t remember the link text, but the name drew me in, and I wasn’t disappointed. Now I have to be cruel to be kind but I do think the web-site needs a little work, I’d rather get straight to the collection on the home-page, but I can understand why they’d want to prepare you, they have an incredibly strong and graphic style that might scare the pants off the more lily-livered t-shirt punters out there. read more
T-Shirts at ShortBusClothing.com – Come and Take a Ride!
Justin at Short Bus Clothing has offered up his work for review and I have to admit it is certainly refreshing to see such a democratic approach to politics when it comes to t-shirt design. I am a confirmed lefty, if you haven’t noticed, I’d rather not take sides in all honesty as I, as well as at least a few more million lost souls out there have lost the will to live when it comes to electioneering. read more
Boycott Beijing Olympics 2008 T-Shirt Review
Once again this is a free t-shirt design, it will be the last review of my own works in this category, I urge all talented designers to submit their own tee shirts, even if its only for the free publicity! You maybe wondering why a t shirt designer would willingly invite his competition to submit their own products? read more
Reviews of the Camden T-Shirt Competition for XFM and H&M
OK, so this won’t be the most objective of reviews, I know, so don’t start piling in with the complaints. If you want us to review your t-shirt, then submit your design info today! If there’s one thing we all hate about the Net it has to be arriving at an empty blog, no one more than the webmaster who owns it (apart from perhaps search engine spiders). So to start the ball rolling I’m going to review a couple of my own t-shirts (starting with Camden Rocks!) – that can show an example of what to expect for the future. I will be breaking my own rules again by reviewing tee shirts that aren’t available for sale to the public, however, to avoid any accusations of blatant opportunism, I think it best to make that exception this one time!
Camden Rocks! (H&M / XFM promotional merchandise).
Unfortunately by the time I had heard about the recent t-shirt design competition at XFM.co.uk it seemed the competition was already over, I ranted in a few emails but to be honest I think a little nepotism is sprawling round the corridors of XFM Radio’s headquarters. I submitted my design 3 days before the deadline, and he designs there absolutely sucked, that’s not a personal opinion, it is plain and simple truth. Take a look at all the submissions here.
