Tee Blitz are a new comic art lovin’ time limited t-shirt store which hasn’t quite launched yet, however they’re holding a couple of t-shirt contests right now, one involves signing up to their newsletter and “introducing” 3 friends via a form on their homepage. The other, for a far lesser prize but still worth the trouble, will help them decide which version of their first t-shirt is better, “red or black?“.

I’m guessing the finished product will be called “High Voltage” judging by the names of the product images. Nice style, I prefer the red one myself. Springleap have hooked up with Vodacom in South Africa to offer a very generous $1250 in their latest contest, yep that’s US dollars and not South African Rand, so if you’ve got some design talent and you’ve never tried your luck there, this would be the time to start! The theme is “connectivity”, essentially it’s all a clever piece of marketing for a phone company who’s marketing department seemed to have got caught up in the whole idea of crowdsourcing, people hooking up with each other, that kind of jazz. Anyway, forget the hype, all you need to know is that:

The deadline for submissions to win $1250 is March 25th 2011.

The theme is “connectivity” and in particular imagining a life without Vodacom, without SMS (without mobile phones beeping incessantly… trains full of business jerks texting Eastern European call girls because their wives are screwing their fitness coaches… interruptions at dinner, or when you’re getting it on with that someone special… a life without mobile phones? Bliss.)

$2000 T-Shirt Design Contest

The Curiositee Imachination T-Shirt Contest is offering a grand prize of $2000 for all you t-shirt designers looking to make some real money. It’s being run by the science and technology obsessed Phathom Tribe at Phathom.com so I think you can already guess what they’re looking for. You’ve still got until 11.59 PM EST March 15th to submit your entry, which is also when the public vote ends so the quicker you submit the better I’d say. Judging begins 16th March to the 22nd of March when the winner will be announced.

Here’s some of their blurb (complete with typo) to give you an idea of what you’re in for…

“Whether your mission is to protect John Conner Connor at all costs or you simply have an idea on how to make your flux capacitor a little more eco- friendly. This is the T-shirt design contest to melt you steel heart.“

Hilarious. Now that’s what I call theatre :p I never could stand Lloyd Webber, to be honest I’ve always felt that there’s a natural evolution in the arts and theatre has most definitely seen better days. Dumbing it down doesn’t help. If you can’t stand bad British theatre you can get the Rats Tee for guys and girls.
