Someone is trying to steal Buy-Tees.net
First off, whatever you do, don’t use Godaddy, they don’t give a flying **** what happens to their customers. That’s the trouble I’ve been having, someone’s hacked my Godaddy account, I’ve changed the passwords, got everything to do with Buy Tees away from my Gmail account (which was probably the culprit), locked the domain (after the hacker had unlocked it and asked for an auth code to transfer it). Since then I’ve upgraded to a more secure package, basically the moment I unlock it the hacker’s going to grab this baby.
I feel two things right now, really p*ssed off and at the same time, rather strangely flattered that someone would bother. To be honest, if it wasn’t for the remaining advertisers I’d probably let the hacker take the blog, it takes so much of my time up and in no way helps my art career.
On the same day I realised I had a hacker I was approached from a major publisher asking if they could include one of my pieces (Warholes) in the next edition of the forthcoming title ‘Illustration’ by Andrew Hall, published by Laurence King Publishing, London. They’re releasing 12k copies so that should be some good PR for me!
So what I’m saying is either, within a week or so, your favourite t-shirt blog will have been hacked and spammed up with some junk links by some guy living in a hole in Russia or China – or – normal service will be resumed. Fingers crossed :/
Buy-Tees.net is winding down… honest
I know some or even many of you have heard it all before, but here’s the problem money and time. Basically I and Chris are flat broke, the roof is crumbling, we’ve little money coming in and with water damage to almost every floor of the house I’m going to have to grow up (finally) and prioritize. That means, very little blogging, which was always just for fun, and an expensive hobby at that. No more reviews, although I’ll try and maintain this blog as an archive for as long as possible.
Career wise I’ll be focusing on graphic design (if anyone needs a decent graphic designer contact me at art@paulbaines.co.uk as long as you like your graphics weird – see my art blogs at http://www.arturban.co.uk and http://paulbaines.co.uk for more info.)
Hopefully, eventually, if the demand for my art picks up I’ll have money enough to sort out my life and even revive this and a few other blogs, but for now I have to admit that problems are coming thick and fast from all directions so reality needs to set in…
Thanks to all those who have read, followed, contributed and generally supported the blog in many ways.
Have fun
Paul
Brand Battle Royale
![]()
Once again teemocracy is in full force effect at AlwaysUrbanBlog.com – come and join in the fun and vote for your fave t-shirt label in AUB’s latest brand battle! At present there are four t-shirt brands up against each other; Bad As Hell Clothing (who we’ve featured a few times at Buy Tees), Breathe On Apparel (who we’ve not come across before), Syditty Clothing (who offer a rather snazzy selection of designer women’s tees) and Someone Clothing (who we will definitely be featuring in the future!).
You don’t have to sign up to vote but AUB will need an email addy, of course they say it’s to make sure there’s only one vote per person but:-
If you had a 100 different emails you could probably cheat.
I.P address tracking is a far better way of preventing cheating.
It’s a sneaky way of building up their mailing list, still can’t blame them I suppose.
Anyway it’s a great chance for your favourite t-shirt brand to get a heap load of exposure, well I say that but looking at AUB’s traffic statistics right now they’d all get around ten times more with a review on our blog but hey, the more the merrier. (Yes I’m not being as kind as I could but I had a rough night last night hah).
So here are the rules:- By voting in the Brand Battle, you are opting into the AlwaysUrban.com email list. Expect results and a pile of other emails to boot in your inbox?
Vote For Your Favourite Brand
You must enter a valid email
You only get to vote once
Voting ends 03 / 16 / 09
So let’s take a look at the tees AUB featured to entice you to vote… read more
Back by Popular Demand!
Okay, okay settle down now. We’ve had a lot of emails over the past month or so and they seem to be saying just about the same thing “Come Back!”. We we’re so touched by all the fans and their kind messages that I (Paul), Chris, and the interlopers who help us out now and again have decided that this is most likely fate at work.
We’ve seen our Google PR jump to PR5, we’ve seen the traffic steadily increase rather than drop and we were even in negotiations with a t-shirt company for around a month who were adamant they wanted to buy our blog and keep it intact, yes buy Buy-Tees.net and keep it as an archive of t-shirt news and reviews! The point is we’ve realised there is a place in the world for our little old blog and so we’re jumping back into the fold, testing the water, seeing if the world really does want a heap more of the longest wordiest and over-elaborate t-shirt reviews known to history.
So first things first, we humbly apologise to all those t-shirt companies we have not reviewed over the past month or so, if you’d like to submit your request again here we’ll do our very best to catch up!
Anyway normal service will be resumed shortly!

C & P
I Am The Trend – An Indie Designer’s Mecca
If you’re in the business of creating t-shirts, fashion, or in fact anything creative including art, music, you name it I Am The Trend will feature you! I’ve just had a quick trawl of this great new resource for creative types of all kinds and I officially give it a big thumbs up. We all know how difficult it is as a designer, musician, or artist getting your works out there.
Most of the net and that most certainly includes Google focus on massive corporations, many of whom own enormous networks of all types of websites selling every piece of junk you can imagine. It’s vital that the Internet consumer is offered an easily accessible alternative, where they can not only find and purchase truly unique items, well designed by artists who understand their public and culture in general, and iamthetrend.com most definitely offers a positive contribution to the cause. read more
