Then again, I am British, I’m a stoic cynic, and if it wasn’t for the pressure from family members I doubt I’d even mail out Mother’s Day or Father’s Day cards, and even Valentine’s Day feels more like a Hallmark Card moment than a romantic/religious tradition.
Let’s face it, Coca Cola invented the Christmas we know today, and if it wasn’t for the corporate confectioners out there, I doubt that even Easter would be celebrated these days. What do chocolate eggs have to do with the resurrection of Christ? I’m sure there’s an explanation out there, I just doubt many sweet shop owners know the answer.
