I used to love The Muppet Show as a kid, however Sesame Street sucks, I know they mean well, but kids, don’t play in the street with a man in a giant bird suit! The Frakking Puppets Tee features two old gits (Statler and Waldorf) who never seemed to enjoy themselves. I wish 604 had made a punch bag of these two, still one of their shirts and a big gut might suffice. Everyone’s a critic hah. Get this funny tee for $19.95 in sizes XS-XL.

The Chocolate Giant run by designer Ezekiel Brown is a relatively new t-shirt label launched this June. Right now they have four tees on offer but one of them really stands out from the rest.

Leggings Are Not Pants Tee

I’m guessing this tee is inspired by this Facebook page which is full of people complaining about those who wear leggings in public? Hmm… here’s the group’s profile photo to explain their objections.

Being a typical red-blooded man I can’t really concur on this one, the fact is if you have it I say flaunt it. I suppose it’s all down to taste, maybe it’s the artist in me but in general the human body (in all its weird and wonderful manifestations) doesn’t particularly offend me, even the most ugly of physiques have a certain fascination. But then again, if the craze caught on for guys and beer-bellied construction workers with big fat asses decided to wear leggings on the train, inevitably to scratch their balls more easily, I’d instantly have to have a rethink on this one. Still a great subject for a t-shirt and kudos to TCG for picking up on this theme. You can get their tee in a variety of colours and sizes for $20 here.

Here’s a funny little addition to the Buy Tees archives. Nikols Kurobasa contacted me yesterday and asked for some advice regarding what I gather is a t-shirt design job (or maybe a graphic design position – never got the full lowdown), basically a little confidence boosting was in order and for good reason. Nikols attached a rather hilarious design proposal and I had to share it with you.

Olympian Tees – Michael Phelps Ain’t No Weed!

Now if you’re a sports fan this is probably no news to you, but Tyler from TeeshirtBodega.com wanted us to share their latest funny t-shirts with you celebrating the fact that the American Olympic gold winning swimmer is, as it happens, a total stoner! Now I’ve heard that Cannabis can act as an expectorant but to imagine a smoker, let alone a toker, could hold the record for the most gold medals won at a single Olympics makes you wonder if all the anti-drugs campaigns out there may have got their facts wrong this time.

Look, “drugs are bad m’kay”, but perhaps now and again the world produces a special individual who manages to convert THC to adrenaline, or perhaps he’s from the planet Krypton, or maybe he doesn’t inhale, no scrap that, he definitely inhales. Whatever I say it isn’t going to get around the fact that the greatest Olympiad in history is bang on the pot. I suppose the government anti-drugs agencies out there could argue that if he wasn’t a stoner he could probably fly or swim faster than the speed of light, but really, this must be leaving a few doctors scratching their heads.

I mean Phelps has been awarded the World Swimmer of the Year Award in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and the American Swimmer of the Year Award in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He’s won a total of 48 career medals so far, including all of the Championships in which he has competed: The Olympics, the World Championships, and the Pan Pacific Championships, and in 2008 Phelps even won the Sports Illustrated magazine “Sportsman of the Year” award. Hmm… perhaps weed will replace steroids from now on, who knows.

Anyway, take a look at T-ShirtBodega’s offering marking this most inauspicious event, well it’s probably auspicious for all the bongheads out there, but I’m sure that the US Olympic committee would rather we all brushed this fact to the side and focused on the fact that even though he’s the greatest sportsman ever, even though he’s a total pothead, “don’t do drugs or you will end up trouncing the Olympics and walking away with 8 gold medals”. read more

Wear A Shirt To That All Important Interview

I suck at interviews. The only really important one I’ve ever had (except a few to get in to art college yonks back) was for Campaign Magazine, it was way back when I though I could possibly stand working for someone else, 9 to 5 as Dolly used to squawk. However it was all down hill after they gave me the job. the truth is I had the strangest experience at the group interview stage, yes there are a few companies who still bother doing that, don’t ask me why, perhaps they are looking for natural born leaders. If the Haymarket Group which owns Campaign Magazine thought I was a leader then they were profoundly mistaken. All I’ve ever managed to do is lead people up the garden path, metaphorically speaking that is. I don’t mean I grab strangers and walk them up and down the back of my house (which is only a very small patch of decking anyway), that would be too weird, even for me. read more
