It’s A Dance Party Massacre
Dance Party Massacre isn’t just a t-shirt brand, it’s practically a way of life. Although, in case you’re wondering, you won’t find this elite crew of creative fanatics literally spilling blood on the dance floor. It’s a metaphor, an analogy, an attitude that deserves respect, and it’s all jam packed into some of the funkiest urban/attitude tees out there. Life after all is short, but for those inclined, sweet, and what makes it sweeter are friends, gatherings, beats, wide eyes and fun-packed days and nights brimming with funky moves and cheesy grins. Enjoy yourself, live life whilst you can, the world might suck, but tonight’s gonna’ rock – that’s the message, plain and clear.
DPM is the front of house for a tribe of rolling beat-loving party animals who tour Massachusetts with their acclaimed, nay esteemed gatherings, where the tunes are guaranteed to get your body moving whilst your eyes feast on the sea of funky punk tees worn by adulating fans of this irreverential brand. DPM offer an insight of what all companies might look like in the future, we’re not talking comfy sofas at Apple here, but a true commodity of like-minded people, who love to create and love creativity, who favour the arts in all its manifest forms, and ensure it’s built-in to the very core of everyone of their lives. You can get as involved as you like, check out their ‘Scream Team‘ to find out how you can spread the message further, and whilst you’re there try their blog for all their latest updates. Plus of course their party page – if you want to take the plunge and meet the real deal.
However it’s their iconic t-shirts that truly do the talking for them, telling it like it is, and reinforcing the message in big bright bold colours, stonking typography, and slick street styles that just won’t quit. If you love your attitude tees to have the right attitude, the sort of attitude that keeps dancing throughout the night and the next day, then Dance Party Massacre are your new best friends. They love to party, they love the dance floor, and now their tribe is spreading that love to all four corners of the earth. Dissecting Dn√¶ Genes
To be honest the first time I’d heard of Dn√¶ Genes was yesterday, I’d received an email from Socialite Style discussing future opportunities for my art in the fashion world. I answered enthusiastically, and spent a while checking out their fashion events site before stumbling across Dn√¶ Genes. They’re a rather cryptic brand as it goes, their site didn’t give me much background information to go on, but from what I can gather they’re UK based, hedonistic in their outlook and a favourite with London’s socialite set. Their FAQ page begins with a concise and emotive modus operandi and is quickly followed by a wealth of visual ephemera of kitsch and kooky film and personal nostalgia.
The site is simple yet leaning on the good side of ‘slick’, the layout is easy to navigate, the products are for the most part impressive, very impressive at times, but without some kind of history and specific agenda I found it difficult to truly connect with the brand overall. However that aspect of the label can be easily remedied, what Dn√¶ Genes needn’t worry about is their creative direction, they have some truly hot tees on offer, again simple yet slick, and I am sure are a big hit with the wackier side of the trustafarian set around North and West London. Although it has to be said their prices are incredibly reasonable, especially at the moment seeing as they have a big sale on with all tees going for just £15 each. Still, money isn’t everything, you can’t buy class and Dn√¶ Genes have it by the silver spoonful. Let’s take a peek at how the other half live ;)
