T-Shirt Printer Spam
I’m always getting spam from Far Eastern t-shirt printers, at least I don’t get spam from fake trading outposts in the middle of Africa anymore (mainly the Sahara as I recall)) who’d suddenly want to order 5000 t-shirts. Something for all you newbie independent t-shirt stores to look out for there.
Anyway what makes me laugh is, apart from the bad English, is the fact that most of these spammers don’t even check out my blog, they just read the word t-shirt and assume I’m in the market for importing a few thousand tees from, where is it this time, oh Hong Kong , oh no the name mentions Hong Kong but they say they are a Chinese supplier.
Anyway my point is spammer or not, I’m not in the market for buying/importing/printing a truck load of tees, so please take my email off your list and move along.
Thanks
Paul

731 out of 50,000 t-shirts
My heart sank when I discovered this site today. It really is a case of reality crashing in though the door and spoiling the dream. FiftyThousandTshirts.com have the noblest ideals, their cause is more than justified, it’s a smart idea and should work to help the victims of last May’s 7.9 magnitude earthquake that devastated the Eastern Sichuan region of China.
Perhaps it’s the design, or maybe a lack of exposure on the net, or even all the disasters around the world since competing for their cause (Haiti for instance). Whatever it is things don’t seem to be going well for Steve Paterson, the creator of the website. Of course I’ll do all I can to help over here, which is the main reason for bringing all your attention to the site. FTT have been featured at numerous t-shirt related sites, blogs and forums, but from what I can tell they’ve only sold 731 t-shirts so far. read more
Creating a Beijing T-Shirt Brand
I found this fascinating video at Current.com that might interest you, it features the guy (Dominic Johnson-Hill) behind PlasteredTshirts.com and his ongoing domination of the Chinese t-shirt market. Here’s at least one example of the tide turning, isn’t it about time we stopped importing and started exporting back to Asia? Watch and learn! read more
Made in The USA (In Chinese)
Here’s an absolutely hilarious t-shirt from WigglyPiggly.com – it speaks for itself really. I’m sure this is a sign of things to come, have I mentioned that China will be the richest country in the world within 40 years?
Probably, but it’s well worth remembering. Seeing as most of their schoolchildren are more advanced in mathematics and programming than graduates in the West, the fact they have over 1.25 billion inhabitants (and potential consumers) and about 3000 years worth of coal for the burning, I don’t think the rest of us have much chance – do we? read more
Save The World For a Free T-Shirt
Now I know how much Buy Tees readers love a freebie, however this one’s for a rather more worthy cause, i.e saving the world!
If you have twenty friends in the world you qualify, that’s it. You simply let Al Gore and his mates at WeCanSolveIt.org email your compadres and if they all sign up for a free membership you get a freebie tee. It seems (as usual) that this is yet another offer that ignores most of the world, i.e non-Americans, which kind of sucks actually.
Perhaps they’re worried about their carbon footprint, or maybe Europe, Asia, Australia, and the rest just don’t count. I can see their point, America is still the dirtiest country in the world (ecologically speaking), but it wouldn’t do any harm to use Al Gore’s clout to help set up a few international offices and actually save the world, instead of a ‘bit of it’. read more
