Fear & Loathing T-shirt (Girls)

Love the book, love the movie, and love this t-shirt. The Fear and Loathing t-shirt is available for both guys (sizes S/XL) and girls (size L), there aren’t many left so unless you want to wait for a reprint you’d better put on some weight or take some off heh. It’s on offer for £20 but with the discount code SUMMER30 it’s just £14!
Paranoia T-shirt (Guys)

I am a big fan of spoof logos, I’ve done a few of my own in my time including an artwork called ‘Retail Therapy‘. Paranoia has to be one of my fave t-shirt designs in the genre. I really like the concept, think Hollywood, think self-obsessed, because they’re all paranoid in La La Land. This tee is available for guys for £20 or £14 with the discount. Only sizes L/XL left!
Plenty of tees and accessories on offer at 30% off at www.disturbiaclothing.co.uk.
Literary Fashion at KafkaCotton
I was never much of a bookworm, except in two cases, one as a student of fine art, at my degree course, on the very first day we were handed an encyclopaedic reading list that I still haven’t completed over the past 15 years! The other time is when I’m feeling low, at times I’ve commuted to London (the horror) and took a novel with me, or generally depressed and need a dose of the Iron Lung Argument*. I’m a fan of dystopian literature, I used to think it I was simply a fan of science fiction, but after years of reading for my degree I cottoned on to the big picture. Authors who taught me to be miserable with reason, rather than the terrifying prospect of being miserable without reason were Sartre, Kafka, Orwell, Ballard, Burroughs and a whole load more. However, feeling a little older and wiser these days, and perhaps a tad more numb about the gulf between expectation and reality, I take my dystopia with a pinch of salt. Much like KafkaCotton, a literary t-shirt label with a passion for books and fashion. KC have been featured right across the American media, CBS News, ABC News, L.A Times, CNN Radio and far more, and with good reason why. There is a yawning gap in the market for t-shirts based on literature, we have tees on just about every subject out there, movies, celebrities, humour, nostalgia, you name it, but this must be the first literary t-shirt brand I’ve come across.
KafkaCotton.com have kindly offered up a generous 15% discount coupon for all you lucky people, just enter the code “BUYTEES” at the checkout to save a few of your hard earned dollars. They already have 5 shirts on offer including classic titles like Moby Dick, Jack Kerouac’s On The Road and another of my favourites Catch 22. There are also two new tees in the offing, To Kill a Mockingbird and one of my all-time favourite books and movies Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five which I will feature in a moment. Here’s the latest release in the KC collection…
1984 T-Shirt
The 1984 t-shirt by KC offers up the Orwellian insight of ‘Doublethink‘, this isn’t the same as hypocrisy or neutrality, but a method of socially divergent mind control. A very insightful design caps off this superb concept for a t-shirt, you can get 1984 from $24 or just $20.40 with our coupon code “buytees”. Remember 5% goes to charity to if you are in two minds on this one, don’t doublethink it over too much ;) Available in red in plenty of sizes.
Slaughterhouse-Five T-shirt
This tee isn’t available yet, it’s the winner of an open submission at KafkaCotton, submitted by one of KC’s fans, they’ve won themselves $300 in cash and store credit which is great to hear. I love the grainy textural style of this print, it’s simple and direct yet rather haunting in its own unique way. Keep an eye out for it, it will be available for sale in the very near future!
They’ve also just opened opened up design submissions for their next design… To Kill a Mockingbird and expect a good turnout: http://kafkacotton.com/submissions-open-kill-mockingbird. Submissions close Saturday, June 5th and voting will open Monday, June 7th. Upload your design before Saturday and help the spread the word!

Choose Your Weapon T-Shirt
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from ace designer Ian Leino, so it was great to hear from him about his latest t-shirt, it’s called “Choose Your Weapon” and I’m sure you’ll get the idea the moment you see the pics. I really like icon montage/collection designs, I’ve featured a few on this blog, but this is definitely a new one on me. This tee is actually an ever so subtle gamer shirt, perhaps the most subtle I’ve ever encountered. All the weapons depicted are from popular video games, the best of the best mind you. It includes some of my own personal favourites like the BFG from Doom, the Railgun from Quake 4 and the Energy Sword from Halo. So get ‘tooled up’ now and… Choose Your Weapon!
Choose Your Weapon T-Shirt

Here’s a handy fan-made key to all the weapons featured in this shirt.

You can buy this cool t-shirt in all sizes for both men and women for $18 at shop.leino.com.

Brat & Suzie is a bright and quirky new British label that uniquely specialises in animal illustrated T-shirts and vests. Win An Oliver Hibert Ouroboros Box Set
This is the second box set I’ve written about in a week, and to be honest I think it’s a great leap forward. I’ve always upheld the notion that t-shirts are art, and involving more and more prominent artists for commissioned art and t-shirts is a great combo. If we love to wear it why wouldn’t we want it on our walls? LTD Tee have collaborated with the fabulous psychedelic artist Oliver Hibert for their latest offer, an outstanding box set entitled Ouroboros. Based on the mythical self-consuming creature that is Ouroboros or Uroborus, a fantastic vintage pop design that extends this Ancient Greek symbol into something trippier than ever before.
What’s really exciting about this release is that you can enter enter to win an Oliver Hibert ORIGINAL Sketch, and will receive a set of free LTD Tee stickers and t-shirts. Yes, you read right, to celebrate their launch LTD Tee is giving away a free box set which includes an original sketch by Oliver Hibert! Everyone who enters to win the set will also receive free stickers by JThree Concepts, MCA / Evil Design and Oliver Hibert and will be entered into their weekly drawing for free t-shirts! Even better than that you can get a generous 10% off the full price by including the code “buy-tees” at the checkout!!!
Ouroboros T-Shirt
Even the custom screen-printed box is gorgeous
The Ourobros box set includes the following:
• High quality, screen printed t-shirt
• 8” x 10” art print
• Custom screen printed box
• Artist bio on both the box and neck label
• Sticker pack
It is available for men and women in all sizes at $24.99, which I have to admit looks like a major bargain to me considering all the work that has gone into it! You will have to hurry though, it’s first come first served as far as LTD Tee are concerned and the offer ends in just another 12 days.
LTD Tee is a brand new online pop art clothing company which pays a great deal of care and attention to its products. They feel very much as I do that t-shirts are a medium for artistic expression and inspiration and they have backed up their ideology by handpicking only the best in contemporary artists including future design releases by the likes of David Flores, Camilla D’Errico, MCA / Evil Design, JThree Concepts and MW. This is most certainly a label to keep an eye out for, exciting times are ahead.
The countdown is ticking, if you fancy owning an Oliver Hibert tee, print and sticker set rush on over to www.ltdtee.net today.
All We Are Is Energy T-Shirt
As Moby and many physicists before him have said, “we are all made of stars”, which isn’t strictly true, since we are only made from a small selection elements, chemicals and minerals borne of the vastness of space, but it’s a nice thought all the same. All We Are Is Energy is far more apt, and luckily enough that is the title for Springleap‘s latest design winner Sebasebi who harks from Argentina. There’s a wonderful painterly style to this one, reminds me a little of some of Imaginary Foundation‘s work.
All We Are Is Energy T-Shirt
It’s available for pre-order at £12/€15/$19/R183 in all sizes here. Energy and matter are the same thing, they simply vibrate at different frequencies, matter which is what we are for the main part runs at a far slower rate. I will let you make of that what you will :p Loving this tee, probably the best to come out of the Springleap stable so far.

History Is Vicious
Taking a wry look at humanity and the foibles that entails our collective Vicious History – this label offers a range of superbly designed tees with the aid of top creatives including Oatmeal, Killer Napkins, artist/musician Keaton Henson and Craig Robson. Spearheaded by Chaz Matses, a 22 year old guy from Boston, who not only has a great eye for design and for upcoming talent, he also makes sure his unique brand portrays history with a post-modern tongue firmly in cheek. Their line of hilarious tees are all hand printed by Storenvy and are all on offer at a very respectable $20.
Napoleon T-Shirt

A light hearted look at one of the greatest tyrants (an oxymoron if ever there was one) in the history of the world. Bonaparte’s looking a little worse for wear in VH’s interpretation . Still, vertically-challenged dictators and megalomania aside, it’s a great t-shirt. Available in sizes S to XL for $20 here.
Bird of Prey T-Shirt

Not sure how this one ‘displays the evolution of birds from their origins in the Jurassic Period over 150 million years ago‘, but it’s a cool illustration all the same. Available in all sizes for $20 here.
Grave Robber T-Shirt

A lovely title and an authentic slice of typographical savvy makes this simple logo tee a cut above the rest. Speckled and grungy, probably from the dirt of a thousand open graves. Wooooohhhh…. Get the Grave Robber tee in all sizes and gory glory for $20.
Reign of Science T-Shirt

This has to be my fave at Vicious History right now, it reminds me of the strange cottage museums my dad would insist on stopping by on the way to the coast. Usually run by mad old witches with a selection of conjoined twins, humans and animals, snakes, dried and pickled and pieces of wood that were supposed to look like the devil. Okay maybe it was all just a bad dream. If you like jars of body parts then feast on this fine example of Victorian era style design, beautifully ornate yet disturbing. Hey I like it so who cares. Get this tee in all sizes for $20 here.
Check out all the latest discounts on offer via The Tee Directory and then head on over to Vicious History in order to add a little gore and humour to your wardrobe!

They also do a nice sideline in charitable tees such as Water by Numbers which all of the proceeds go to WellDone.org. However here’s a new one on me, simply follow them at Twitter and receive a generous %15 off any of their products! Here’s what they sent when I started following them:
“We offer new followers a coupon code good for 15% off @ http://www.chopshopstore.com use hellotweet @ checkout.” Their Twitter page is at http://twitter.com/chopshopstore. It’s be really nice to see more t-shirt brands encouraging interaction this way, after all, a community can become a following with the right incentives. What’s more if you’re already a follower don’t worry, you can just quote buytees at the checkout for the same discount :D
Here’s a tee by Chop Shop I think I may have missed, probably my new favourite at their store, with coupons entitling you to ‘at least one reader of your tweets‘ and a ‘get mom off Facebook’ voucher I think you get the idea…

Varcity Tee
Check out this superb t-shirt by Jordan Halland of the Payola Collective. This dude is a highly skilled illustrator and artist and he has a mean passion for bikes. The Varcity tee and another two available from his label The Damn Rascals is inspired by an age old logo enfranchised rubber guy, I’ve taken inspiration from the Michelin Man myself in a piece called Scooch. I love everything about this shirt, the choice of font, the subtle use of colour (very subtle) and the old tired coot puffing away on what could be a spliff for all I know, struggling to climb that hill.
You can get the Varcity t-shirt for just $15 for men (S-XL) and women (XS-XL) and if you live in Spokane near Washington their order will be delivered by hand in person. For the rest of us there is an extra $8 for shipping.
