Teextile – A New T-Shirt Community
WARNING: Teextile seem to be ripping off their customers and designers! Read our latest post http://buy-tees.net/2010/03/teextile-a-rip-off/
Teextile.com is a brand new t-shirt community site created by Franco Galvez. Even though the site has just got started there is definitely an inrush of high quality designs at Teextile, which to be honest on average takes a lot longer than mere weeks to build up, but somehow Franco has managed to create exactly the right environment to encourage the brightest and the best to his little corner of the Net.
Perhaps it’s because Franco is a desigber himself, born in Peru but im now living in San Diego this 20 year old graphic design student and professional told Buy-Tees he “started the site because to be honest its an awesome job, I’m not one for office work, dont really see myself strapping on a tie every day and going to work in a cubicle for 9 hours…”. I asked him why he’d started Teextile, he agreed that “perhaps there are too many of these type of sites already (t-shirt design voting sites such as Threadless.com) but as he states “there are so many awesome designs out there which aren’t being printed” Franco knew that the world could do with one more – and by the looks of it he’s right!
As the old saying goes, the proof is in the pudding, and there are plenty of servings to go round at Teextile, some of the tastiest shirt designs you’ll see in a long while, so come on and tuck in, because you can never have too many great tees.
For starters we asked Franco which were his favourites at Teextile at the moment, there are rather too many to mention but here’s a brief selection.

| G.O.T by FatMouse | I.G by Tealesm | E.T by Latortuga | E.V.F by BrunoMota |
Some very nice choices here, I especially Like BrunoMota‘s flamboyant vector designs and Latortuga is most definitely a future contender for the likes of Glennz and other stars of this ilk. Latortuga has produced a few amusing t-shirt designs now, I think my favourite being Cube.

Teextile definitely needs your votes (and submissions) – right now it only takes two or three thumbs ups to get into their “popular” section, so it’s all up for grabs as they say, if you want an enormous sway of influence over a t-shirt community now is the time to start! As of now they haven’t started printing, in fact they’ll begin printing in approximately 6 hours (as of time of writing), and so if you want to buy your favourite tee nip over there now!
Sacrilege by Rodisleyd is a rather strange affair, it’s only had one vote so I’m sure it won’t be in the running for the first print (unless there’s a divine intervention of some kind) but I do love it’s irreverence. I’ve always had a soft spot for stained glass designs, there’s a rather cool screenprint by Jamie Hewlett from the band/project Gorillaz called Large Window that features a lot of faux-stained glass. It does make me wonder why Rodisleyd has limited his palette to a range of blues, I’d like to see a lot more hues and tones in this one, even a little blood would help – but that’s just my love for gore I suppose :p
Here’s another by Rodisleyd that I really do like, a little bit pithy and pun-based but the style is fab, and what’s more he’s really getting his Gorrillaz style on here! Yes it’s called Broadband – haw haw hmm – but I do love the line on this one and even the heavy fontage makes a strong impression. I mean if you’re going to be heavy, be heavy ;) Anyway if you can speak Spanish check out his site at www.rodisley.com for more illustrations, posters etc.

Here’s a unique subject for a t-shirt, “The Death of Rasputin“, it’s mad, bad and almost a work of genius. I know what I love about this design, absolutely amazing illustrative detail, it’s almost something you’d expect Alan Moore to script but I think that Castle needs to do a little rejigging somehow, perhaps it’s the floating guns, they’re brilliantly drawn don’t get me wrong, but rather unrealistically floating in the air. I’d rather the circular border incorporated guns, poison, knives, subtlety so you’d have to look close up to realise, thereby not giving away the whole premise at once. Anyway I expect this guy has a bright future ahead of him no matter what!

Just for the sake of weird I have to include this tee – Short Nose Problems by Vahrammuradyan – I mean it’s mad isn’t it? Vahram Muradyan is a freelance graphic designer and artist but all in all he has the makings of a great graffiti artist, it’s such a “Stop you in your tracks” image, I mean like it or not have you ever seen an image like this before? I’d love to see this one ten-foot high on a wall somewhere, I suppose it’s a light-hearted look at personal inadequacies, what with all the expectations the media puts on us day by day, but must the strangest tackling of the subject I’ve seen in a long time. Well drawn too, although I will have to put a false trunk on a Boxer dog to be sure :p

Franco loves t-shirts of all kinds, as he says “for me they are kind of like music, I go through phases. at the moment, I’m a fan of white tshirts with colourful stuff on them, but I can’t say im all that fashion conscious (im wearing my highschool tshirt which is 4 years old and worn out).” He’s simply in it for the love of it.
I asked him what were his future plans for Teextile.com, he told Buy Tees “hopefully if we get big enough, I hope to open up a store… if you’re wondering how my store’s going to work – if we only sell one design a day, that would be a success for me. I’d want to move into a shop with a storefront, printing shirts in the back as you normally would and have a bunch of blank shirts in the front so people can just come in, try on their size and have their shirt printed right there… fast food tshirts with any (kick ass) design. dont know if it will work, but thats my crazy little plan right there, I hope nobody steals it!”
So there we go, the future of fast food tees is in the hand of Franco’s Teextile t-shirt community, check it out, and hurry, voting for the first t-shirt ends in less than 6 hours!

Do you like to get gifts for Christmas? Well, I like to Give gifts. I ordered one of the t-shirts on Nov. 8 for my son for Christmas. It is now two days before Christmas and NO t-shirt. I’ve emailed and emailed but no answer to my request of “Where is my t-shirt?”…..So my card was charged November 10 and an email confirmation was sent to my email that they got my order. BUT still no t-shirt. So I finally found their phone # and called them. The man who answered said that the t-shirt company was his brothers and this was his phone #. What kind of company puts his relatives phone # on his business? What customer service, he took my name and # and said he would tell his brother I called.
Sorry to hear about your experience, I have forwarded your comments to Teextile.
DO NOT buy from this site. They will take your money and not send you the merchandise you ordered. I ordered 2 t-shirts and they charged me and did not send my order. When i tried to track my order the order number they sent me was invalid.
I’ve asked for my money back and they are ignoring me.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE. It is a scam.
Just want to +1 Azure. DO NOT BUY. Apparently they had a flood of some sort, which is understandable, but did not notify any of their customers at all. Once I inquired, they gave out a bogus shipping schedule, and assured me it would come. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, obviously floods are no joke. When the shirt didn’t come by New Years, i asked for a refund. Weeks went by, no response. Finally, in late Jan, I received a response saying I’d get a refund! Hooray. Today is March 6th, and I open my mailbox and guess what’s in there? The shirt I ordered, shipped in late February.
Teextile can go to hell, and whoever decides to buy from them should know that they’re going into business w/snakes.
I want to apologize to all of the people that have purchased from us in the past and had a bad experience with our shipping. We shut down teextile for that reason and took care of all the issue with production and shipping. We’re now shipping our tshirts a week from purchase. We did suffer some unfortunate problems with our shop with flooding and having to move and loosing thousands of dollars in merchandise. We communicated this to our customers by sending email but we know that this emails can sometimes go un-open so hopefully this can clear some questions. We are here to stay and it has never been our intention not to fulfil our orders or take care of our customers. If there is anybody that has any questions or concerns, please email me at teextile@gmail.com
thank you
Will
Thanks for the comment Will. Let’s hope this will be the end of the troubles at Teextile. The fact is I get regular emails from those who have complained about Teextile’s service. A good start would be for Will to contact those who have commented on this post.
I sent Will an email on Sunday. I’ve been trying to get this fixed since I placed my order on 11/1/09. Pretty disappointing so far… I’ve gotten mixed replies using the contact for on the site. Most of my emails go unnoticed, and other times I get claims that “your order has just been shipped” or “We’ll ship it out tomorrow!”.
Thanks for the input Jack – any more negative comments and I will be forced to slate Teextile in a post. I really think they might just be stalling now.
Sorry to bring more bad news…
I ordered “Happiness in a Spray Bottle” on February 22. The order confirmation that they emailed me said I made a purchase. After a few weeks, I became worried and emailed them. It turns out after putting in my order confirmation number into their system correctly, I received this
“we were unable to find your order, please try emailing us again with the correct order number
if you do not have one or lost it, please add a comment above with your full name and what design you are emailing us about ”
They replied with “This order has been process and shipped. You will receive it in a couple of days. I will resend the tracking number from usps.com” on March 17
Until this date, i have not received any new tracking number from usps.com. Also, about the Teextile reply to this post, I never received an email Teextile said they sent out. The only email I ever received from they sent was about my order confirmation, reply to my initial inquiry, and verification that i sent an email.
Thanks for the comment. If I get a few more comments like this I will definitely write a post that slates Teextile. I hate to be and see others ripped off like this but I feel there aren’t exactly floods of complaints so far. I’ve done my best to contact them and feel they are pushing their luck way too far. Will see.
Wish I’d seen these posts before I ordered. Same problem here. Comes up as invalid order number, no response to emails. I don’t see any other way to contact them – no phone number.
May 2nd I ordered a shirt from Teextile.com I then received my order number. May 14th Still nothing, I emailed them and got a email back saying that the order was processed and shipped. Today is May 25th and still nothing, I’ve never had this problem with any other shirt site. I will take any further actions that are needed. Maybe contacting the BBB? I will be sending them another email tonight, we shall see.
Thanks for your comment Curtis. Sorry to hear you’re in the same boat, they aren’t members of the BBB. Spreading the word online is the best bet.
