Better Late Than Never - Myspace T-Shirt Contest
November 3, 2008
Sure I’ve been known to be slow on the uptake, I’m getting on you know, I don’t have my finger on the pulse when it comes to up-to-the-minute updates like some people in the t-shirt industry, but I get there in the end. Besides this blog is a hobby, a passion sure, but well I do have a life to live, besides there are plenty of t-shirts blogs out there for lists of discounts and contests if that’s what your after. I like to focus on designers and their stories, as you might have guessed, and whenever I get the chance I crowbar a few of my own tall tales into the mix, however I have to point you towards this contest, it’s for a good cause and it offers plenty of promotion and even though there’s no dosh involved you can’t really complain (if you believe in good karma).
You’ll have to hurry though, there’s only a few weeks left (gulp) - so if you’re gunning to get going here are the details…
Cancer Research UK and MySpace Impact UK have teamed up to increase Breast Cancer Awareness with a fab T-Shirt Design Competition. Not only is it a great way to raise the serious issue breast cancer in the public consciousness but the winning t-shirt will be sold next year in Cancer Research UK’s online store and charity shops. The winning t-shirt will be sold next year in Cancer Research UK’s online store and charity shops which means tons of exposure for your design (if you win).
Finalists will be selected by an expert judging panel that includes Babycakes Clothing founder and MySpace icon Paul Griffiths and a creative team from global designer clothing label Amplified. The public will choose the winner and they’ll announce the lucky so and so on Friday 12th December!
You’ve only got till the 12th of November to submit your t-shirts (sorry guys), and you’ll need their t-shirt template to get started. You can only use 8 colours and it’ll only be printed on the front so no double-sided artworks. All the profits go to cancer research so it’s a great cause. If you want to read all the rules click here.
When you submit your work make sure you’ve downloaded a t-shirt template and show where you would like your image to be placed e.g. draw a box indicating where you would like it to sit on the t-shirt
Email both files along with any background information you feel necessary to tshirtdesigncompetition@cancer.org.uk using the subject line “your MySpace user name: T-Shirt Design” e.g. Mike: T-Shirt Design
So hurry up if you haven’t got an idea to help promote breast cancer awareness, I’d doubt they really want a pair of bewbs on a tee by the way, you can see examples of current submissions at their Myspace page. Anyway good luck!
