I found this guy at IndieRepublic.com – you can see his store at Etsy.com – the place for handmade fashion – make sure to check out all the handmade t-shirt designers there. However rather than a quick shout I’d thought you might like to know a little more about 1AEON – he’s a fascinating guy with a surreal taste for t-shirt design.

Gabe Molnar of 1AEON says his designs often come from his dreams. The fantastical imagery includes lions, dragons, skulls and owls (“since before all the owl hype,” as Gabe says). Working non-stop in his small kitchen in Brooklyn, this Hungarian-born artist is driven to be the best at whatever he does and to push the boundaries (perhaps due to a childhood under Communism?). The best thing about 1Aeon’s work is that all his t-shirts are unique, imagine what you’d normally pay for a one-off design and then check his prices! You can also find a few bags and hoodies created with his same inimitable style, hoodies are $28 and bags $10, shipping is usually (US): 6-7 days. He hand screen-prints everything and uses American Apparel tees so you’re assured of high quality wear. Almost all of his t-shirts are on sale now for just $12 to $15 which seems incredible to me when you realise the standard he’s working to. Expect to pay $32 and up once the sale finishes!

I think the biography video and t-shirts truly speak for themselves. A fascinating insight into the dreams and desires of a cultural emigree – the works reflect a need for freedom, a surreal release for a guy coping with the differences in living in the extremities of cultures.
