DesignersBlock T-Shirts at Top Shop
If you haven’t heard of DesignersBlock before then you’re missing out. They’ve recently moved to a new 10,000 square foot HQ at 1 The Piazza, Covent Garden, London.
Just recently they co-launched a collection of art shirts with the high street fashion chain TopShop and unsurprisingly DB have made no compromises in style when it comes to entering the mainstream.
They also marked the event by creating an art installation at TopShop’s flagship Oxford Circus and Manchester Arndale stores, check out the video to see these artists at work.

The artists involved include Alex Trochut, Harry Malt, Sarah Howell, James Taylor, Pomme Chan, Joe Wilson, Kerry Roper and Seripop.

| Kerry Roper is a London based Graphic Designer and Illustrator. His work combines traditional illustration, photography and typography. Past exhibitions have included: the Native Weapon exhibition 2004, at the a.k.a.Gallery in Rome 2005, The London Textile Museum 2006 and at the DesignersBlock: Illustrate 2007 London exhibition. Kerry’s work is known across the globe and has led him to design sleeves for various record labels such as Hed Kandi, Peacefrog and Quiet City Recordings. He has also illustrated a Snickers advertising campaign in the states for BBDO, and has been working on the launch of a new drink soon to be launched worldwide. |

| Seripop is the Montreal-based design team of Chloe Lum and Yannick Desranleau. The couple, both musicians and music lovers, started merging their design and drawing talents into unique rock posters in March of 2002. Their distinctive style has graced posters for no-wave, noise rock and indie bands (such as Black Dice, US Maple, Lightning Bolt, Unicorns, Yo La Tengo, Hot Hot Heat, An Albatross, Black Eyes and Daughters), as well as promo pieces for art shows and music festivals. |

| James Taylor is a graphic designer and illustrator. After graduating from Brighton Art College (2001) he went on to work as a printmaker before embarking on a freelance career in commercial art. Working from a studio based in Brighton, East Sussex, he has produced design and illustration for Music, books, magazines and posters for clients worldwide. Clients Include: SonyBMG, Honda, Nokia, Ernst and Young, BBC, The Guardian, Nylon Magazine, The New Yorker, MTV, VH1 and Ninja Tunes. |

| Joe Wilson has carved out a unique style of image creation, based on the foundations of etching, woodcuts and screen-printed material. Joe’s work is a combination of painstaking, hand drawn illustration and print, focusing on intense detail and strength of the drawn line coming from a lifetime of drawing and doodling. Joe finds drawing the best way to make his thoughts visible. His inspiration comes from varying sources including: the natural world, Theories of Quantum Physics, Scientific exploration and repeat patterns. |
They are in the midst of creating a selection of new installations with another event at Selfridges at their flagship London store to celebrate the opening of their new HQ.
