Freebies at Gurly Q …hmm

August 27, 2008

GurlyQ.com dodgy t-shirt offer?Erik from GurlyQ.com (hey nice name curlicue, girlyq) wanted a quick shout for their latest offer, a *free t-shirt. As I’m sure you can guess this one is for the girls, but then again who knows, there maybe a few guys out there who want to discover their feminine side via the medium of t-shirt design. Then again this could be one big dodgy con… Erik won’t come clean! I’m still awaiting his denial! Read more

Thriving Ink Sale Now On!

August 27, 2008

Thriving Ink - Pure Quality Art ShirtsI haven’t got around to fully reviewing Austin, Texas based urban clothing label Thriving Ink, but this seems like the perfect opportunity, especially as they are currently holding a sale on all their tees. Buy one and get one free at TI - the coupon code is CUST2 and it expires August 31st. Plus they offer free shipping (I’m guessing USA and Canada) for all orders over $50.

ThrivingInk.com seems to me, more like a community than a t-shirt label, even if you don’t fancy buying a t-shirt right this minute there’s plenty more to do at their site. Check out the artists section or keep updated on all the events they attend and organise. Their community section features plenty of places to see their machinations on the net, and gives you a chance to hook up with the people behind the label. Hook up at Myspace.com or Facebook.com or check out their videos at YouTube.com or you can keep up-to-date on all their latest exploits at their blog - well I say that but actually it seems a little neglected :/ Read more

Abstraction Fashion - Dirt Label’s Anniversary T-Shirt

August 27, 2008

Limited Edition Tees at DirtI have just received a quick message from the infamous ‘Critty’ of the Detroit based clothing company Abstraction Fashion (aka Dirt) who wanted you all to know about their latest news, they are offering just 20 limited edition tees to commemorate their one year celebration this Saturday. To be honest I can find very little about them, but I did like this t-shirt design so I thought it deserved a mention. Maybe you can work out what’s going on for yourselves at their blog. I’m assuming the online store is all cleared out for the move (they do mainly sell via stores though). I did read an article scanned from a Detroit newspaper (Detroit Free Press) at Critty’s Myspace, but apart from that I haven’t much to go on. Their work is influenced by (now deceased) biker’s clubs logos, Still a party is a party, now if someone could pay my airfare to Detroit I’ll be set :0 Read more

Creating a Beijing T-Shirt Brand

August 26, 2008

I found this fascinating video at Current.com that might interest you, it features the guy (Dominic Johnson-Hill) behind PlasteredTshirts.com and his ongoing domination of the Chinese t-shirt market. Here’s at least one example of the tide turning, isn’t it about time we stopped importing and started exporting back to Asia? Watch and learn! Read more

Pigs Stags and Hens? Customised Tees at Piggi!

August 26, 2008

Now I’m not the marrying kind, I’m sure there are a lot of blokes who feel the same way and perhaps even a few women. My parents divorced as a kid, and most friends I know have seen their marriages break down, but at least they had a party the night before that fateful day, so their are some positives I suppose :p

If you’re about to get hitched and you’d like to celebrate the occasion then I’d recommend the pithy range of customised tees available at Piggi-Clothing.co.uk There are a few crackers there that are bound to garner a few titters on your stag/hen night. Their best designs find inspiration in many modern movies classics such as Reservoir Dogs and The Matrix, so you’re bound to find something up your street.

I do like the way they get all your friends in on the act, such as in this t-shirt designed in the style of Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill“.

As you can see you can get all your mates on the night included in the line-up with Piggi’s Kill Bill t-shirt. In this case everyone is embroiled in the potential murder of their groom-to-be friend Mark, if Mark didn’t have the jitters before he surely will now.

Made in The USA (In Chinese)

August 22, 2008

Made in the USA (in Chinese) T-Shirt

Here’s an absolutely hilarious t-shirt from WigglyPiggly.com - it speaks for itself really. I’m sure this is a sign of things to come, have I mentioned that China will be the richest country in the world within 40 years?

Probably, but it’s well worth remembering. Seeing as most of their schoolchildren are more advanced in mathematics and programming than graduates in the West, the fact they have over 1.25 billion inhabitants (and potential consumers) and about 3000 years worth of coal for the burning, I don’t think the rest of us have much chance - do we?
