Das Monk T-shirts. Das ist sehr gut!
July 7, 2008
Das Monk was born of the union of t-shirt love by two t-shirt fanatics Marc Hendrick and Anna Lunoe almost a year ago. They are currently in the midst of selling out their second collection of tees right now. They plan to showcase a new and limited edition collection of t-shirts every 3 months and offer a unique homespun style informed as much by the Arts and Crafts movement as by the modern life and modern street culture of Europe and beyond.
The two members of Das Monk came up with their label’s name one starry night, as Marc and Anna ran through all the possibilities they found themselves favouring the word ‘Monk’ because it’s short and succinct and represents a figure of deep contemplation using simple means to communicate something more. The German word ‘Das’ (meaning ‘the’) was added by Marc who is of German descent. Read more
Obama: Live Long and Prosper

*Ammendment: Prosper has been declined by Threadless for copyright reasons!
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT?
They sell Obama t-shirts and they even sell Star Trek T-Shirts, I’ve asked if it’s the font which is an open source .TTF - besides this is the 1960s Star Trek we’re talking here! It can’t be Obama, his image seems to be public property as far as I can tell. I’m ranting at them now, but any ideas or defence I can put forward to them before I submit the design somewhere else would be appreciated!
Live Long and Prosper With Obama! Yes yet again I am submitting another design to Threadless.com - it’s almost like a lottery to me, taking a punt, a gamble on my own talents. Threadless are asking for political t-shirts whilst the US political elections are running and so I thought I’d chip in. Besides I was inspired by the tees I featured at Thriving Ink and thought what the hell.
Brangelina T-Shirt Gate - Jolie T-shirt Terror.
July 7, 2008
It seems that the woman who has everything has found a new cause for her collection, the anti-free t-shirts movement seems to be aimed at a specific minority of jet setters and Hollywood hoi polloi with the sole motive of bringing attention to the possibility of poisonous terrorist t-shirts infecting her home. I’ve a rather diverse selection of tee news for you today, starting with a few Barack Obama t-shirts available at ThrivingInk.com. Before you ask, I would feature McCain tee shirts here if they were as funky as Thriving Ink’s, but I somehow doubt that Republicans would want to wear anything as out there as these (first two) beauties. I do lean towards Obama for obvious reasons, the world oil crisis which has worsened so much more since the initial attack on Iraq, Guantanamo Bay, and the travesty of the Iraq war as a whole, plus the fact that Obama looks awake! T-Shirt Featured at Zazzle.com Showcase!

Yes! I’ve actually managed to get a little recognition for one of my t-shirts woot! Here’s what they had to say about the design:-
‘Your product, American Pi, has been selected as one of Today’s Best on Zazzle! This means it will appear on the Zazzle homepage for the rest of today and it will also be added to the Todays Best Awards Showcase. Keep up the great work! Bask. Glow. The honor is yours to enjoy. -Zazzle’
The only problem is they seem to do that for just about anything out there, go and see what else they’ve awarded today (don’t laugh).
Ah well not bad for my first day on Zazzle and like they say, it’s the thought that counts, I suppose it makes up a little for my miserably low scoring for ‘Ballbearers’ at Threadless.com - don’t ask.
If you want to know more about Zazzle.com they’re featured in my latest ultimate list, this time I’m providing full reviews and stats on almost all the top t-shirt fulfilment sites, click here.

Ultimate Top List of T-Shirt Fulfilment Sites
July 5, 2008
T-Shirt fulfilment sites offer anyone the chance to buy or create and sell custom t-shirt designs to friends, family or the general public. There only used to be the one, CafePress.com, a behemoth of the t-shirt industry, although it has since expanded into all kinds of promotional merchandise, much of which makes me despair if the truth be told. I took years to hop on to the t-shirt design, partly out of laziness, but mainly due to the expense, inconvenience, mess, endless hours slaving over a silk-screen or screen-printing machine, the mess (I’m repeating this for my partner’s sake, she knows I’d have ink all over the house in a day), plus the now over-inflated rate of GBP means I can’t really compete with all the USA designers, many of whom can be found charging as little as $9.99 out there, I must be the only man in Britain who’s urging the recession on lol. Blogged.com revamped or not?
July 3, 2008
Perhaps I’m not on top form today, I’ve wrapped a scarf around my neck in the height of summer because I’ve managed to crick something or other serious in there, but when I received an email from Kenneth Yeh (co-founder of Blogged.com), instinct and adrenaline (and a little caffeine) kicked in and I took to tapping away at the keyboard with a few suggestions and a little praise to soften the blow. I wouldn’t want to put the guy off, but as I said to Kenneth,” I like Blogged.com, but I’d much rather love it.” Read more
High PR Linkbacks in the T-Shirt Industry or Any Industry!
July 2, 2008
I was handed this on a plate from my SEO guy - yes I do have one but I keep it quiet - he might be useless and I won’t know for six months (isn’t it always the way?). I do know he’s using my main email address to submit to a whole heap of directories, which means I’m signed up at all sorts of sites and get the odd annoying directory newsletter, fortunately I use gmail and just dump them in my spam folder (which must worry a lot of successful newsletter types out there. I’ll show you his trick in a minute, I just have to slate newsletters first.
The truth is newsletters are old hat, not black or white hat, just old hat. Feedburner amongst many other RSS web feed management services have made sure no one has to hand their email address over to another mailing list, unless of course they’e getting some freebies and then they only hang around long enough to collect on the goodies. Those goodies were probably always free or very cheap on Ebay, the few successful mailing lists out there are really for product updates, not advice, people don’t want to read generic advice in their inbox, they want it personal. News on the t-shirt front.
July 1, 2008
Just a few pieces of news to pass your way. First of all I am building a queue of expectant t-shirt reviewees here (will review them all eventually - I promise!), that old Internet magic must be kicking in, I’ve never understood how you make a site popular, so I’ve stuck with providing as much original and worthwhile content as I can. I know there are a few reviewers out there who might not appreciate my approach, as the old school of t-shirt junkies seem to like the pic and link format, or rather they like to avoid whole concept of reviewing t-shirts altogether. Which to me seems ridiculous. Why treat t-shirts any differently than any other art form? People will read reams of detailed notes on which celebrity wore what and where. I found myself lost on a very girlie celebrity-obsessed blog the other day, I can’t even recall the name of it, I was trying to locate a useful article about t-shirts (which had been deleted by the looks of it) and found myself faced with a piece on Johnny Depp and his new clean cut look.
